Mera Peak (6476m) is a Nepalese peak located in the Himalayas in the Everest region. It culminates at 6476m and is part of the trekking peaks. The normal route climbs the north face, starting from the base camp and an intermediate camp (High Camp, 5800m altitude. This superb loop route is undoubtedly the best trekking peak in Nepal. From Mera Peak, it is possible to see several important peaks of the Himalayas: Mt. Everest , Makalu, Kangchenjunga and many others.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 M).
Arrival in Kathmandu, depending on your flight times. Welcome by your local guide at the airport exit with a sign from the agency and transfer to your hotel.
Briefing and presentation of the course of the stay. In case of arrival in the morning, day of rest or possibility of visiting the tourist district of the Thamel, for those who wish, your hotel is in the heart of the tourist city.

Day 2: Flight to Lukla (2850 m) and Trek to Paiya (2760 m)
Very early departure (around 2-3am) to reach Ramechhap airport. Flight to Lukla, starting point of the trek, and meeting with the team of porters. Here you are in Sherpa country. First day of walking and the day begins with a long descent to the village Surke then the path crosses a forest of Rhododendrons and bamboos takes us to Paiya.
Note/During the high season all flights to and from Lukla are operated from Ramechhap airport
located 130 km from Kathmandu.

Day 3: Paiya (2760 m) to Pangom (2850 m)
We start our morning by crossing a forest of giant Rhododendrons. Spring is the flowering season of this flowering tree then you follow the path which gradually climbs to Pangom village (2850m).

Day 4: Pangom (2850 m) to Ningso Village (2850 m)
Gradually climb to the Nankung La Pass (3110m), from where you enjoy a superb view of Mera Peak. Then, descend to Sibuje (2770 m). The path crosses a forest of Rhododendrons and bamboo and then takes us to the village of Ningso where we stop for the night.

Day 5: Ningso Village (2850 m) to Jungle Camp (3160 m)
A great day. You will start your day with a steep climb to a Tea Shop and then a long descent to reach the jungle camp.

Day 6: Jungle Camp (3160 m) to Kote (3600 m)
Another long climb to the village of Kote.

Day 7: Kote (3600 m) to Tangnag (4260 m)
Now we are in the high mountains. The valley becomes narrower and narrower. Great landscape between the two mountains Kanguru and Mera. Continue walking to Tangnag (4260m).

Day 8: Tangnag (4260 m) to Khare (4900 m)
After breakfast we walk on the glacial trail. The trail takes us to Dig kharka and then Khare from where we will have a close view of the summit of Mera Peak.

Day 10: Khare (4900 m) to High Camp (5800 m)
Long climb on the glacier to reach the high camp. From your camp, there is a spectacular view of the highest mountains. In front of you stand 5 peaks: Mt. Everest at 8848m, Lhotse sher at 8393m, Cho Oyu at 8188m, Lhotse at 8814m and Makalu at 8481m.

Day 11: High Camp (5800 m) to Ascent to Mera Peak (6476 m) to Khare (4900 m)
The goal of this day is to reach Le Mera Peak at 6476m. You will wake up early. Depending on the weather conditions, your guide will give you details for the climb: no major technical difficulties but you must know how to walk roped in a team and use crampons on the way up and down on a slope of about 35°/40°. You must know how to use a descender, using a jumar is essential. From the summit, there are unmissable 360° views of the highest peaks and the many snow-capped peaks: Mt. Everest, Choltse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Khanglemu, Island peak, Lhotse and Nuptse. Long descent to the Khare lodge.

Day 16: Kathmandu Reserve Day
The flight between Lukla/Ramechhap or Kathmandu is subject to the vagaries of the weather, a delay or cancellation is possible… This is why we always plan a reserve day. Free day.
What to do around your hotel if your day is free?
1: If the weather permits, the possibility of visiting the stupa of Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) located about 45 minutes’ walk from your hotel. The stupa of Swayambhunath is one of the most beautiful treasures of Kathmandu. Located at the top of a hill, with a staircase of 365 steps, will reward you with a breathtaking view of Kathmandu and its valley.
2: Durbar Square, located south of Thamel. A perfect place to make interesting visits. The square is filled with old buildings and temples very characteristic of Nepalese architecture. The approximately 50 temples, palaces, pagodas, courtyards and streets date from the 12th to the 18th century.
3: Pashupatinath Temple. Located near your hotel, 5 km west of Kathmandu, Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples in Nepal. The temple and its surroundings are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
